2nd Dark Fibre International Convention
Dark Fibre deployment has been sustained, new players have emerged and demand is increasing in both developed and emerging markets. This year’s conference includes a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe, Balkans and Turkey and Africa, bandwidth demand from video, and the Investment proposition for dark fibre.

Welcome to the 2nd International Dark Fibre Convention

**More than 18 countries represented at this year’s 2nd convention**

Last year’s event revealed the deployment of Dark Fibre assets continues to be sustained. Dark Fibre is a growing international phenomena as emerging markets begin to build infrastructure, the accelerating need to connect data centres continues, and commercial evidence for the investment proposition shifts emphasis from purely academic networks.

New and old players worldwide are engaged in Dark Fibre businesses, and are experiencing increased demand, as shortages, particularly evident in emerging markets begin to be addressed.

What they said about the International Dark Fibre Convention 2009
"Thank you for the opportunity to sponsor this year’s Dark Fibre International Convention. This is the first convention/conference that not only met all our objectives; everything about it exceeded our expectations in terms of return on our investment. The BroadGroup staff went above and beyond to ensure our time was well spent, that our marketing materials were widely distributed and strategically placed, and that the content from all presenters was top notch, timely and relevant. The amount of learning that took place and executive level contacts made (within a mere 48 hours) has jumpstarted XKL’s efforts to evangelize solutions for lighting dark fiber globally. Kudos to your team for successfully identifying and securing the participation of so many industry leaders in this space. We look forward to sponsoring and participating in this convention and other globally targeted conferences with the BroadGroup again."
Susan Vandament, Head of Business Development, XKL

"Thank you so much for everything! It was a great conference - one of the best I have ever attended and I have been to quite a few. The perspectives were very refreshing and encouraging - the pure dark fiber business model is alive and well and living in many places around the world! The conference gave me many new ideas and the contacts I now have will help me bring them about. I look forward to watching the videos, writing articles about the conference and participating companies, linking to the videos and helping to spread the word. I also look forward to the conference next year!"
Hunter Newby, Chief Executive Officer, Allied Fiber

"We found the Dark Fibre Convention of great interest, a common place for leading players in the industry and a great opportunity to identify key success parameters in a growing business worldwide. Experience sharing expectations were fully met, and strategic drivers for our business were clearly targeted"
Francisco Joya, Strategy Planning Director, Citynet, S.A.

"The Dark Fibre Convention II was one of the best conferences I have ever attended with very high level of presentations which really made me think of trying new methods of deploying the optical network of Dial Telecom in the Central Europe. I also liked the portfolio of managers coming from many different industries involved in the optical network development."
Tomáš Strašák, Chief of Sales, Member of the Board, Dial Telecom a.s.
