XKL ANNOUNCED AS GLOBAL PLATINUM SPONSOR OF 2ND DARK FIBRE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
02 November 2009

London, 2 November 2009 – Representatives of companies provisioning and using Dark Fibre networks from more than 18 countries outside of the UK, are converging on London this week, 5-6 November, at the annual Dark Fibre Convention.

XKL , the company bringing fundamental change to worldwide telecommunications, has been announced as Global Platinum Sponsor.

The organizers have just announced that Ed Vaizey MP, Shadow Minister for Culture and the Creative Industries, will be providing a special address to the event.

The international convention will assess a wide range of issues including the increased deployment occurring at metro, access, rural and national level and funding mechanisms. The event will also act as a forum for recommendations and regulatory changes that the industry sees as necessary, assess investment is a core theme and the perspective of Dark Fibre as an asset, and its ROI, review the Dark Fibre cost stack and its impact on pricing strategies, and look in detail at customer segments, and geographic areas offering new growth opportunities including central and eastern Europe, Balkans and Turkey and Africa.

“The use of Dark Fibre resources by enterprises can improve their business by reducing costs, eliminating delays and permitting more extensive applications of IT resources throughout their operations,” commented Len Bosack, CEO of XKL and formerly co-founder of networks giant, Cisco, and who will be the opening keynote at the convention.

Industry support for a Dark Fibre networking hub has grown over the past two years, where companies and users engaged in this very focused sector can meet and hear directly from senior representatives and thought leaders. The event will provide a content rich programme designed to deliver insight into growth occurring in the sector with original research presentations, top level case studies from CxOs, VPs and Directors, and open the opportunity for attendees to have access to a wide range of national and international networking opportunities.

The convention is sponsored by XKL LLC., H2O Networks , Dial Telecom , Citynet SA, PCCW and Media Sponsor InfoComm.
